The highlight of the event was the Kids Ultimate Challenge itself, where young participants displayed their agility, endurance, and determination as they navigated through a series of exciting obstacles. Beyond the main challenge, the Fun Zone proved to be a hit among attendees of all ages. This engaging area featured various vendors offering an array of delightful activities including the St. Catharines Library, bouncy castles and face painters. The popular teddy-bear clinic stole the show, where children could bring their beloved stuffed animals for “check-up” by the incredible Children’s Unit staff, fostering a sense of empathy and care.

To further support the Niagara Health Foundation, we also participated in the Big Move Cancer Ride, which saw more than 420 riders participate! Thanks to all of you, the event has already raised $316,000 and counting for the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

On Tuesday, July 18, Premier Doug Ford along with Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and Kinga Surma, Minster of Infrastructure, joined Niagara Health and the Niagara Health Foundation to break ground on the 1.3-million-square-foot hospital.

The South Niagara hospital will increase regional healthcare capacity, with the 12-storey building hosting approximately 500 single patient bedrooms – the hospital is also working to become the first WELL-certified hospital in the country, including design features that take into account the health and well-being of both patients and staff, contributing to a positive workplace environment.
